Valayar Paramasivam returns with a bang

Actor Dileep’s biggest mass avatar till date, Valayar Paramasivam of the movie Runway, returns for a second innings. The actor has announced the news through his social media platform and the movie is expected to start rolling in this year. Dileep also confirmed that there will be a sequel for his romcom CID Moosa soon.

Runway, which was directed by Joshiy, is considered as Dileep’s first step in to the full-fledged action roles. Joshiy reinvented him through the fire branded character of Valayar Paramasivam, who led a dual face existence as a mafia don and a simpleton. Indrajith, Murali, Kavya Madhavan, and Harishree Ashokan played important roles in Runway. The movie was written by Udhayakrishna Siby K Thomas duo and was declared as a super hit.

The makers have adopted the same character Valayar Paramasivam for the sequel. According to sources Joshiy and Udhayakrishna-Siby K Thomas will reprise their respective roles in the sequel. The rest of the cast and crew will be announced shortly. Dileep has a promising year ahead with some ambitious projects in hand and Valayar Paramasivam is the trump card among them.

The actor has tasted success again with his last flick King Liar. The Siddhique Lal movie has garnered positive reviews and is ringing the cash registers in the box office. This is his second box office triumph after the record breaking Two Countries. Dileep will join the Joshiy camp soon after he wrapped up the Sunderdas flick Welcome to Central Jail.

The movie, which is written by Benny P Nayarambalam and directed by Sundardas, is touted as a family entertainer. Like the title indicates, Welcome to Central Jail unfolds through the lives of a group of prisoners.

Pujappura Central Prison is the major location of the movie and some scenes will be caned in the backdrop of Kochi. The movie also brings together Dileep and Vedhika after the movie Sringaravelan. Vedhika, who looks forward for a strong comeback to Mollywood through the Prithviraj starrer James and Alice, plays Dileep’s love interest in Welcome to Central Jail.

Dileep teams up with his Sallapam director after a gap of 14 years. Their last Mollywood outing together was the 2002 movie Kuberan, which was a hit. Sundardas’s last flick Rebecca Uthuppu Kizhakkemala couldn’t ring money at the box office. His previous flicks like Pouran and Aakasham also failed to make an impression.

Nadirsha returns with Hrithik Roshan of Kattappana

Nadirsha returns with Hrithik Roshan of Kattappana

Actor turned director Nadirsha returns after his blockbuster debut Amar Akbar Anthony. His next directorial venture, which is curiously titled as Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan, will feature scriptwriter and actor Vishnu Unnikrishnan in the lead role. The movie is produced by actor Dileep in association with Dr. Zachariah Thomas. Nadirsha turned up with a first look poster of the movie on his official Facebook page on April 1st.

Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan is written by Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Bibin George. According to sources close to the director, the movie will start rolling from September. “My next film = ‘Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan’. Since the story is the hero of this film, the story writer, Vishnu Unnikrishnan will play the role of hero,” says Nadirsha in his Facebook post. The movie has Sujith Vasudev to crank the camera and the rest of the cast and crew will be announced shortly.

Nadirsha managed to have a dreamlike debut through the Prithviraj flick Amar Akbar Anthony last year. The movie joined Prithviraj bandwagon of super hits and earned Nadirsha positive reviews. AAA broke all the misconceptions about Nadirsha’s relatively belated directorial debut and skyrocketed him into one of the most promising debutante director of the year.

“Frankly, I didn’t expect the film to turn out to be such a massive hit. But I was quite confident that viewers would like it. Everyone who heard the story before shooting started also had the same opinion. The actors also believed it would be a success when production and dubbing were going on. But the film’s success was beyond all the expectations,” he revealed in a previous conversation.

AAA was also turned out as a launching pad for the scribes Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Bibin George. The duo’s decade old camaraderie and links with director Nadirsha through mimicry stages, laid their path to the writer’s table. They managed to deliver a social message well packed with comic fillers though AAA. . When Bibin George and Vishnu Unnikrishnan, two youngsters from the mimicry realm, approached me with this story, I could sense that it is something I can handle as a filmmaker. That is how this film happened,” said Nadirsha.

When the AAA writers and director reunite under Dileep’s production, Mollywood can look forward for another romcom.

It’s welcome to Central Jail for King Liar

King Liar is busy in Central Jail caning his scenes for the next box office raid. While his latest flick King Lair sets new box office records, Dileep has moved on to his next project Welcome to Central Jail.

“Dileep will play a large-hearted but solitary man in the movie. There are a lot of innocent people who get charged for cases because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time. This story is about a man who helps such people. He takes on the blame and willingly undergoes jail term,” says Benny P Nayarambalam.

“He has a reason to help people. For example, if an MBBS student gets caught in a mess, he bails them out by taking on the charge because society shouldn’t lose a doctor,” says Benny. “He doesn’t cover for murders or rapes, but petty cases that would get him a six-month sentence maximum,” he adds.

“We will be shooting in Trivandrum Central Jail and will also erect a jail set in Ernakulam. Like our previous ventures together, this would also be an all-out entertainer, something that people expect from Dileep,” says Benny, who has established a successful partnership with Dileep through the hits like Kunjikoonan, Chanthupottu, Kalyanaraman, and Marykkundoru Kunjadu. All those flicks happened at crucial points in Dileep’s career and turned out to be milestones in his filmography.

Sundardas reinvented Dileep’s career as a bankable hero with his directorial debut Sallapam in 1996. The movie was a surprise super hit of the year and gifted Mollywood with the star pair Dileep-Manju Warrier. After Sallapam he turned up with Kudamattam, Sammanam, Varnakkazhachakal, Kadha, Kuberan, Kanninum Kannadikkum, Pouran, and Aakasham. He took a long break of seven years after Aakasham before coming up with Rebecca Uthuppu Kizhakkemala.

Welcome to Central Jail also features Renji Panicker, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kailash, and Thesni Khan in pivotal roles. The movie is produced by Vyshakh Rajan under the banner Vaisakha Cinema.

King Liar trailer, the fireworks of lies begin

Dileep hits the social media platforms, with the most expected trailer of the season, King Liar. The movie was trending for a long time since it was announced, as it brings together the golden boys of Mollywood Siddhique and Lal after a long gap of 22 years. The 1 minute 58 second trailer hints that it’s not a typical Siddhique Lal mashup, but a firework of hilarious lies with Janapriyanayakan Dileep at the eye of the laughter storm.

The trailer, which features Dileep, Madonna, Lal, Balu Varghese, Joy Mathew, Asha Sharath, and the other actors playing important characters, gives hints of some hilarious events unfolding around Dileep’s character and a serious track unfolding in the backdrop of a beauty pageant competition. Dileep seems to in awesome form with his hyperactive body language and a new bearded look. Madonna, who makes a comeback to Mollywood after Premam, looks gorgeous and radiates a lot of energy. Lal delivers his usual high voltage tone and appearance.

King Lair, which is written by director Siddhique and directed by actor Lal, will be a laughter bonanza that falls into the director duo’s evergreen hits like Ramji Rao Speaking, In Harihar Nagar, God Father, Vietnam Colony and Kabooliwala. The movie is said to be revolved around Dileep’s character, Sathyanarayanan, who has a mental disorder of telling lies unnecessarily. The tantrums and chaos follow after his lies are packed tightly in a humor box in King Liar. As the name suggests, the movie is centered on and moves forward through lies.

The movie was canned in exotic and expensive locations of Dubai. Some important scenes of the movie were shot inside the high security Emirate Vice President’s office in Dubai. Getting a security clearance for shooting in the building is nearly impossible that a crew of a Jackie Chan project had had to shoot their scenes outside the building. According to sources, the makers spent approximately Rs. 1.75 Crore for shooting the climax. More than 200 foreign extras took part in the shooting. Some expensive international models including Miss India World Natasha Surie were also seen among the starry faces.

Siddhique and Lal had announced their decision to part away unexpectedly years ago, when they were considered as the most celebrated director duo of Mollywood. Their last joint venture was the 1999 multi starrer, Friends, which featured Jayaram, Mukesh and Sreenivasan in the lead. The movie was written and directed by Siddhique and produced by Lal.

King Liar also Deepak Dev composes BGM and Alex Paul tunes the songs. Alby cranks the camera for the movie, which is produced by Ouseppachan under the banner Ouseppachan Movie House. According to latest updates, King Liar will hit theaters on April 1.

Masterstroke, Adoor Gopalakrishnan ropes in Dileep and Kavya Madhavan

Master filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan roped in Dileep and Kavya Madhavan to play lead roles in his upcoming movie Pinneyum. While this is the second turn for Kavya with the master filmmaker, Dileep collaborates for the first time with Adoor. Kavya played the lead role one of the segments in Adoor’s last flick Naalu Pennungal. Pinneyum marks the veteran filmmaker’s homecoming to the director’s chair after a long gap of eight years. The movie will start rolling from May 11 with Thiruvananthapuram as its main location.

Adoor, who is considered as the Indian master of contemporary world cinema, is busy with the pre-production works of the movie. Adoor’s last feature length movie was Oru Pennum Randanum, which was an adaptation of Malayalam writer Thakazhi Sivasankarapillai’s short stories. The movie was screened at various film festivals around the world and won critical acclaim.

Regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers India has ever produced, Adoor Gopalakrishnan has made 11 feature films and 30 short films and numerous documentaries. In a career spanning 50 years, he has won several national and international awards. Adoor received the Padma Shri in 1984, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2004 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2006.

He is considered as the pioneer of the new wave cinema movement and the film society movement in Kerala, which redrawn Mollywood’s sensibilities and narrative techniques. Adoor, being an eternal critic of brainless movies, always stood for quality both in the commercial and the so called art cinema. “When I got a National Award for Swayamvaram, just the award and the news it made attracted the audience in Kerala. It was an instant success at the box office. Years later, I got the National Award for Anantaram and Kathapurushan, but the response of the audience was lukewarm,” he had said in a conversation.

Adoor emerged as a master of Indian cinema after Sathyajith Ray with the critically acclaimed movies like Swayamvaram, Anantharam, Mughamugham, Kodiyettam, Katha Purushan, and Elippathayam. The director is considered as one the best documentary filmmaker in the country with multiple award winning documentaries like Krishnanattam, Kalamandalam Gopi, Kalamandalam Raman Kutty Nair, and Dance of the Enchantress.

On the other hand, Pineeyum starts trending in the social media platforms as it brings Dileep and Kavya Madhavan after a long gap. Both were last seen together was in the 2011 flick Vellaripravinte Changathi. Dileep and Kavya went through rough seas in their personal and professional life after that and Mollywood couldn’t see much of its lovely pair in screen. The pair is considered as one the best in Mollywood history with blockbusters like Meesa Madhavan, Sadhanandante Samayam, Chandranudikkunna Dikkil, Chakkara Muthu, and Vellaripravinte Changathi. Pinneyum brings the evergreen pair together once again under the master director and the viewers can expect nothing less than a classical visual experience.
