Jayaram tastes some action in Sathya, first look
Actor Jayaram, who is not so commonly associated with high voltage action thrillers, tastes some action in his upcoming Mollywood flick Sathya. The movie is directed by Puthiya Mugham director Diphan and written by AK Sajan. The recently released first look poster promises a bloody, action thriller in the making. Actor Nikitha returns with a prominent role in the movie after her notable appearance in the Mohanlal flick Kanal.
Sathya marks Jayaram’s return to high voltage action flick, a genre the actor is elusive with. “I haven’t done a full-length action film like this in my career. So, that’s something new for me and I am looking forward to that. While I can’t reveal much about my character in the movie, it is different from what I have done so far,” says Jayaram, who doesn’t have many action flicks in his filmography. According to sources, Jayaram will appear in a never seen before avatar in the out-and-out action thriller, which also features Kollywood actor Nasar and Bollywood hunk Rahul Dev in important roles.
Reports suggest that Jayaram will appear as a Tamil Brahmin Sathya Subramaniam in the movie. Earlier, pictures of the actor in which he had shed off almost 10 kilos for the trimmed look of his character were surfaced in the social media. Jayaram is desperately in need of a convincing mass flick, since the actor’s box office figures are alarming. His next flick is with Thingal Muthal Velli Vare director Kannan Thamarakkulam. The movie, which is titled as Aadupuliyattam, is touted as a horror comedy and features Bollywood actor Om Puri and Remya Krishnan in important roles.
Director Diphan’s last flick, The Dolphins couldn’t ring a bell at the box office. He has year to move out of the shadow of his high voltage action flicks Puthiya Mugham and Hero, both brought never seen before action sequences into Mollywood and escalated Prithviraj’s image as an action hero. Puthiya Mugham was Prithviraj first mass hit that launched his rule in the box office.
Sathya also features Sudheer Karamana, Kottayam Naseer, Vijaya Raghavan, Nandu Lal, Balachandran Chullikkad, Manu, Shobha Mohan, Manga Mahesh, and Vinod Kumar in key roles. Directors Sohan Seenu Lal, Renjith Sankar and MA Nishad will also appear in cameos in the movie. Gopi Sundar composes the music and Bharani K Dharan cranks the camera. The movie, whose plot unfolds in a colonial cityscape, is shooting in Pondicherry.
