Shah Jahan and Pareekutty, a deadly romantic combo rises

Director Boban Samuel brings together two male epitomes of romantic endeavors, Shah Jahan, the romantic among Mughal emperors and Pareekutty, the eternal lover in the movie Chemmeen. His upcoming Mollywood flick Shah Jahanum Pareekuttyum, which features Kunchakko Boban, Jayasurya and Amala Paul in the lead roles, narrated the story of two smitten, contemporary love icons. Reports suggest that the movie will be a romantic romcom that deals with a love triangle.

“It’s a movie for those who have loved, who have got hurt in love and will fall in love. The story would touch on all three facets. Amala’s character plays a lot of pranks in the movie, which takes the plot forward,” says Boban Samuel. “Amala’s character playing a lot of pranks on its male characters that actually takes the plot forward,” he adds.

Boban Samuel debuted in Mollywood with the 2011 movie Janapriyan starring Jayasurya. The romantic comedy featured Jayasurya and Bhama in the lead roles and went on to collect positive reviews from the audience. The movie revolves around Vaishakan, played by Manoj K Jayan, an aspiring filmmaker and Priyadarsan, played by Jayasurya, a village simpleton. At some point of time, their lives intervened and the movie depicts the consequent events in a humorous patch.

The director hit the box office again with the hilarious Romans in 2013 with Kunchakko Boban and Biju Menon. The movie depicted the life of two convicts who are living in disguise as two priests in a village near Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The movie garnered positive reviews and declared as a super hit of the year.

His third movie Happy Journey came out in 2014 starring Jayasurya, Aparna Gopinath, and Lal in the lead. The movie narrated the life of a blind young man from Fort Kochi named Aaron, played by Jayasurya and his journey to find a place in the Indian cricket team for the blind. Even though, the movie couldn’t repeat the box office performance of Romans, it won critical acclaim for its craft and lead performances.

Sha Jahanum Pareekkuttym will start rolling from April. Apart from Kunchakko Boban, Amala Paul and Jayasurya, the movie also features Aju Varghese, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Lalu Alex in key roles.
