Unni Mukundan says Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaya
Actor Unni Mukundan is on a comeback spree after some disappointing roles in some equally disappointing flicks. The actor will soon be seen as a village electrician in the upcoming Mollywood flick Our Murai Vanthu Parthaya. The movie, which is touted as a romantic entertainer, is written and Akhilesh Sreedharan and directed by debutante Sajan K Mathew. Unni has two leading ladies, Prayaga Martin and Sanusha, in the movie.
“Sanusha plays Aswathy, the prettiest girl in a village. She is the apple of the eye of all the villagers, including Unni’s character Prakashan. It’s an endearing character and different from those she played so far,” says Akhilesh Sreedharan. The movie marks Sanusha’s return to Mollywood town after the critically acclaimed and commercially successful roles of a nurse in Sapthamashree Thaskaraha and a strong woman in Zachariayude Garbhinikal.
Prayaga, after an eventful stint in Kollywood with her debut movie Pisasu directed by Myshkin, also makes her Mollywood comeback through Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaya. She also plays the female lead in the Anoop Menon-Murali Gopi joint venture Pa Va aka Pappanekkurichum Varkkeyekkurichum. Even though, born and brought up in Kerala, she made her acting debut in the 2014 Tamil movie Pisaasu directed by Mysskin. Later, reports took round casting her opposite leading stars in Mollywood, but none of them were confirmed. The movie is important for her as the actor needs a breakthrough in her home turf.
On the other hand, Unni Mukundan looks forward to maintaining the positive momentum gathered through his last flick Style, which was a youth oriented from director Binu after his much talked about debut Ithihasa. Tovino played an important character alongside Unni Mukundan after his popular role in ENM in the movie. The movie earned positive reviews from all over and Unni’s performance in action sequences was praised by viewers.
“It will be a feel good film; a simple love story between a boy and a girl packaged with a lot of humor. Unni’s character Prakashan is an electrician and his look will remind you of the early 80s,” said Sajan about his directorial debut. Apart from Unni, Prayaga and Sanusha, Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaya also has Sudheer Karamana and Sudhi Koppa in important roles. Vinu Thomas composes the songs and the lyrics are written by KR Narayanan and Abhilash Sreedharan. The movie is produced by Siyad Kokker under the banner Kokkers Films.
