Their onscreen chemistry in Su Su Sudhi Valmeekam was hailed for its freshness and romantic appeal. “I play Nithya who is bolder than my character Kalyani of Sudhi Vathmeekam. I am really enjoying working with Jayasurya again. He is a fantastic actor. The entire team is young and so full of energy,” says Sshivadha.
Inspector Dawood Ibrahim, which is touted as Jayasurya’s foray into mass entertainers, the actor will play a police officer with a mass appeal. “I have been playing, realistic characters for many years now. But after seeing how the viewers have received my one-off, over-the-top role as Shaji Pappan in Aadu: Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu, I figured the time is right to do a mass movie. It’s also the biggest film in terms of budget I have been part of, yet,” says the actor.
Earlier, the movie was announced, with Asif Ali in the lead, as Asif Ali’s first production venture under his home banner Adam’s World of Entertainment. But, the project shelved and Jayasurya replaced Asif to play the title character Dawood. Joju George, Saiju Kuruppu, and Sudhi Koppa will also play important roles in the movie. IDI is produced by Ajas and Arun under the banner Magic Lantern Films.
