Anu Immanuel and Dulquer in Amal Neerad’s next

Action Hero Biju girl, Anu Immanuel will romance Dulquer Salman in Amal Neerad’s next directorial venture. The untitled flick will start rolling from April 6 with Errattupettah, Kottayam as its mail location. There will be an overseas schedule for the movie, which will be shot at US. Dulquer will join the camp after wrapping up Rajiv Ravi’s Kammatti Paadam. The actor has shed a lot of weight for Kammatti Paadam and Amal Neerad and crew are waiting for the actor to regain his shape.

Anu Immanuel has a high time in her career, as the leading lady in Inspector Biju exposed her to more offers from Kollywood and Tollywood. The untitled Amal Neerad flick will be her second movie in Mollywood. Even though the makers suggest that the movie will be a back-to-back entertainer, they are also keeping their mouth shut about other details of the movie.

“Kullande Bharya with Dulquer took me out of my comfort zone. This movie too has got me excited because it’s something that I have never attempted before,” said Amal Neerad in a conversation. “Since Bachelor Party, I have taken up movies that are different —be it Kullande Bharya or Iyobinte Pusthakam. I want to continue that trend with this movie too,” he added. Amal Neerad and Dulquer Salman worked together earlier in Amal Neerad production venture 5 Sundarikal, in which Dulquer played the central character in the segment, Kullande Bharya.

Amal Neerad is collaborating with scribe Shebin Francis and composer Gopi Sunder in for the movie. “We are good friends and our camaraderie reflects in our work as well,” says Amal about his fifth consecutive collaboration with Gopi Sunder. Amal’s longtime associate Renu cranks the camera and the movie is produced under the banner Amal Neerad Productions.

Amal Neerad, after graduating from Sathyajith Rai Film Institute, Kolkata, began his film career as a cinematographer in Bollywood and later went on to producing and directing movies. Before turning into an independent filmmaker with Big B, Amal Neerad worked as a cinematographer with Ram Gopal Varma’s production company, where he did the cinematography for James, Darna Zaroori Hai and Shiva.

His directorial debut Big B enjoys a cult status among the young Mollywood followers. The movie introduced a never seen before graphical story telling style using unconventional camera angles and movements. Iyobinte Pusthakam was his last directorial offering, which couldn’t claim the top spot at the box office despite much hype and an ambitious star cast.
