A railroad romance, Dhanush reveals “Thodari” first look poster

Actor Dhanush turns up with his upcoming Kollywood flick Thodari’s first look poster. The actor, who flies high with the hits Maari and Tanga Magan and some ambitious projects in the making, posted the first look posters on his official Facebook page. The Prabhu Solomon directorial was initially titled Rail, then renamed as D30 and finally zeroed in on the titles Thodari, which means train in Tamil. Keerthi Suresh plays Dhanush’s love interest in the movie.

Like the posters imply, the train plays an important role in the movie. Both the first look posters feature a train engine and the lead pair. Sources suggest that Dhanush plays a railway catering employee and the movie tells a touching love story in the backdrop of trains and a railway station.  The movie also brings Dhanush to his comfort zone as a next door guy, who romance, dance and fights like anyone. Report hint at a railroad love story unfolds between a couple, who travels from Delhi to Chennai in the Duranto Express.

Director Prabhu Solomon shot to fame with the sleeping it Mayna, which earned him his first major breakthrough at the box office and numerous accolades. He maintained his reputation as a dependable filmmaker with flicks like Kumki and Kayal. His focus on localized themes and people from small towns in Tamilnadu made Prabhu’s movies distinct. Thodari is his first collaboration with actor Dhanush.

Keerthi Suresh grabs the leading lady tag after her commendable performance in the Siva Karthikeyan flick Rajini Murugan. Keerthi, who debuted as a child artist in movies like Kuberan and Pilots in the 2000s, emerged as a lead actress with Priyadarsan’s horror comedy flick Geethanjali with Mohanlal. Later, she appeared alongside Dileep in Ring Master. AL Vijay directorial Ithu Enna Mayakkam marked her Kollywood debut and Rajini Murugan with Siva Karthikeyan gave her the much expected breakthrough.

On the other hand, Dhanush is on cloud nine with an amazing lineup of ambitious projects that include his Hollywood debut. Dhanush confirmed his spot in the Hollywood flick The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Cupboard directed by Marjane Satrapi, who has earlier directed the critically acclaimed movie, Persepolis. The actor will play the lead role alongside the Pulp Fiction star Uma Thurman and Alexandra Daddario of True Detective fame.

Dhanush is currently working with director Gautham Menon in his Kollywood gangster flick Yennai Nokki Paayum Thotta. Thodari has Thampi Ramaiah and Karunakaran in the supporting roles and the music is composed by D Imman. Vetrivel Mahendran cranks the camera and the movie is produced by Sathya Jyothi FIlms. Thodari will hit theaters in April.
